Rachins (ラチンス), commonly known as Chin (チン), is one of the three thugs that attacked Subaru. He is later joins the Felt Camp after being employed by her.
Chin has a unnuasal white complexion with black eyes. He wears a prison suit and has chains around his wrists and throat. He has long grayish blue hair with pink at the end.
Chin, Ton, and Kan first encountered Subaru after the latter wandered into a narrow corridor. Chin demanded that Subaru give up all of his valuables if he didn’t want to be hurt. As that was occurring, they are suddenly interrupted by a small blond girl yelling for them to move out of the way. Subaru initially thought that she was the person who summoned him here. However, that girl merely stated that she doesn’t have enough time before leaping above onto the rooftop. As the trio started amazed at the sight, Subaru asked if seeing that made them any less hostile to him. In response, Ton stated that it actually soured their parade and made them feel even worse about him.
Despite the apparent danger of being mugged, Subaru believed that he had gained some sort supernatural powers upon arriving and made a quick jab at Ton. However, his adrenaline rush quickly ended after Chin pulled out his knives. Subaru is then promptly beat up by the three thugs as they started to gang up on him. Luckily, he is saved by the arrival of a half-elf girl that was after the blond girl who left earlier. Despite also being in a rush, the girl couldn’t ignore Subaru’ blight and knocked Chin and his friends back with a display of ice magic. The trio initially wanted payback but were scared away after the girl revealed that she could summon a Spirit.
In the third loop, Subaru once again runs into the trio. This time, he was dismissive of their arrival because he was in a rush. In the ensuing conflict, Subaru ended up being stabbed by one of Chin’s knives. The trio panicked over what just happened, while Chin stated that he walked into his blade as he had actually never stabbed someone before. As Chin and Ton where arguing over happened, Kan once again stabbed Subaru, as he thought that they should just take what Subaru had and run. However, the three of them ended up soon fleeing out of fear of the guards showing up, leaving Subaru to die alone.
In the final loop involving the Stolen Goods Warehouse, the trio once again run into Subaru. This time, Subaru yelled out and called for help from the guards. The unexpected call for aid managed to shock the trio, but they soon regained their composure after it seemed that no one heard Subaru. However, as they drew closer to Subaru, they are surprised by Reinhard’s sudden arrival, whose presence caused the trio to run away in fear.
Upon arriving at the royal capital, Emilia forced Subaru to hold hands with her, as she didn't trust him by himself, believing that he'd go off and do something if he was left alone. Unfortunately for them, they were holding hands in front of Kadomon's store, causing him to tell them to stop flirting and go away, however he eventually remembered their promise and sold Subaru some ringa. A short while later, the two made their way to the guard barracks, where they met Julius Juukulius of the Royal Guard, who Subaru took an immediate dislike to. Subaru tried to accompany them inside but was told by Emilia to wait outside, leading to him fantasizing of punishing Julius in the event that Emilia became king, however he decided to leave when he saw a girl being taken into an alley.
To his surprise, the girl refused his help, going as far to throw him against a wall when he tried to take her with him, claiming that she would do as she pleased. He then recognized the thugs that dragged the girl into the alley as Ton, Chin, and Kan, making him wonder if they were the only thugs in the royal capital. The girl's attitude, coupled with the thugs remembering who Subaru was after a hint, forced him to bring out his "trump card", which was telling the thugs that he was supposedly best friends with Reinhard. Not wanting to fight Reinhard, the thugs retreated for the time being, though they returned later when they realized that Subaru was lying, forcing the two to run from them. Fortunately they were saved by Rom and succeeded in escaping from the thugs.
Having met Rom for the first time in a while, Subaru took a little time to chat with him, telling him that Felt had been taken by Reinhard, and in exchange Rom guided them back to the main street partway, leaving the two of them when they came close. At the main street, the two ran into Emilia and Al, who had been working together to find their missing companions. After Priscilla and Al left, Emilia asked Subaru why he'd been with Priscilla, but before he could answer the thugs led by Ton managed to find them, though they were quickly annihilated by Rem, who arrived from the air. Elsewhere, the thug group led by Chin and Kan found Priscilla, though like the other group they were annihilated, this time by Al.
